Niagara Falls New Years Eve Party & Concert: What You Need To Know

News Years Eve In Niagara Falls

Are you planning your New Years Eve party plans today?

If you’re thinking of coming to the biggest outdoor New Years Eve party in Canada, seen live on Global TV as part of ET Canada’s NYE ’14 television coverage, we have all the information you’ll need to know.

From where to park, where to eat, and where to stay.

The Biggest Outdoor Party in Canada

The annual bash, which started 22 years ago, takes place right at the bring of Niagara Falls in the beautiful Queen Victoria Park. Organizers normally expect 20,000 revelers to pack the park, but this year’s music line up has some serious talent and organizers are now expecting 30,000 - 40,000 party people to ring in 2014.

It’s important to note that this event and New Years Eve concerts are very family friendly and have remained free of any safety concerns or other issues. The Niagara Parks Police plus about 50 regional officers will patrol the area. The Niagara Falls Review spoke with Brian Ash, a casino district staff sergeant with the Niagara Regional Police who said:

“We have as many officers as possible on foot patrol so we can be in amongst the crowd,…Obviously, getting there by vehicle isn’t going to be possible in some cases.”

“It’s pretty much always been family-friendly. We’ve had very little that I’d consider to be serious in nature. But of course we always prepare. Obviously, with a mass like that you’ll have a fight here and there, somebody who’s had too much to drink, but nothing we’d consider a serious event.”

The event itself is alcohol free, but there is a licensed area for those thirsty party people.

What You Need To Know

Concert Lineup

Sam Roberts, Serena Ryder and headliner Demi Lovato are scheduled to perform, starting at 8pm.

Keep in mind that this is also the time where the Niagara Parkway and most of Murray Hill gets fully jammed with pedestrians. You definitely do not want to be driving in this area.

“I would recommend not parking too close to the event,” said Brian Ash, a casino district staff sergeant with the Niagara Regional Police.

“The challenge for us is safety and traffic issues, with having so many pedestrians.”

Fireworks

The spectaular Fireworks display over the majestic Niagara Falls are scheduled for two shows: 8:45pm and again of course as we ring in the new year at midnight.
